Well..The big Fella was sold off..The ER6N given back to the bank due to bad time now in my life..

The Blue Moon Rising

Well..in earlier post you may have been introduced to the Big guy..bought by my younger brother and maybe..will be included in my stable..

Bike have been unused by my bro for some time. So when i brought it back  home and it was misfiring like a bitch.. So now i was worried. I knew that the bike needed a service badly..but did not expect it to misfire like this..

So i drop the bike to my buddy who owns a local garage near my home..go check out Blue Print Garage in Usj Subang Jaya..superb work by my buddy..

So left the bike for him to diagnose whats wrong with the bike. Came back to me later and found out the air filter was gone..like torn and disintegrated (see pics) spark plugs gone..turns out they old one were car spark plugs *facepalm* and there was water in the fuel line..

So my buddy did his magic and now the bike is back to tip top healthy conditions. Still need to do a few more stuff..like changing the exhaust back to standard..redo the seat trims..add some spotlights..repair the trip meter button..that's what i can think at the moment..

Of yeah..by the way..I'm calling the bike #optimus i think this bike looks like optimus prime...colour wise and build..big old wise reliable..hopefully..

Hello Out There.. 2015 mid year update

Well..its been a busy hectic half year now..the purple fella is still with me..been riding it once or twice a week..No Sunday rides yet. Only to work and back..about 10km return trip. I had the pleasure of riding my buddy's 2013 Kawasaki Z1000 for a month or so plus..that will be updated on another blog entry when i gather all the pictures..also had some work done with the big fella..the Kawasaki versys 650..will also update on that soon..

I am in a dilemma now..what do i do next?

Feels like the ER6 N needs a makeover..

Welcome to the Family..2008 Kawasaki Versys 650 CBU "TheBigFella"

So my younger brother decided to get into the motoring scene. He's started riding a bike since schooling days and stop after furthering his studies and now has the means to get a cool bike. He has always been interested with the dual purpose type of bikes. He used to ride my Honda Varadero 1k and loves the high tall riding position.

So we went to look for a couple of bikes and he fell in love with the Versys 650. He wanted to buy a new 2013 Versys 650 model but after some delivery issues, He cancelled his order and went on the look for a CBU Versys 650 model. During this time the valve issue was a hot topic. So the CBU unit is a wise choice. The value for a used CBU model is around RM23k up to RM30k depending on mileage and accessories. A few candidates were viewed until we found a good price CBU model at Nilai, Seremban. It was a trade in model which the previous owner trade in this versys to get a Ducati Multistrada. Bike seem fair and ok condition. Price was at RM26k, comes with a Givi Top box and crazy dual exhaust. Mileage was at 99k km but all valve clearance, service etc has already been done by the previous owner. So a deal was made with the shop and then we took the bike home..

Welcome to the family ..."bigfella". This will be a start for me and my brother to ride and tour the anyway around the place.

Kawasaki ER6N/F Versys 650 Valve issues..

For Malaysian owners, this issue have been a major talking point within the owners of the 650 parallel engines.

Engine were blowing left and right!! Most of the case, a broken exhaust valve ( if i am not mistaken) was the culprit. A couple of my riding buddies experience this issue and it's not a cheap fix. Cost of repairs started from RM5k upwards to RM15k depends on the damage engine. This has made the price of the bike in the used market plummet down so badly. Everybody is selling off their bikes. 

A group of Versys Owner Group (VOG) Malaysia has taken up the issue to Kawasaki Malaysia and after some meeting and some help from the media, Kawasaki Malaysia has made a recall to all owners of ER6N/F Versys from year 2010 and above to have their engine valve check and change the exhaust valve for free. With this check also, an additional 20,000km or 2 years warranty was given to bike that has been given the bike check up.Facebook link..

I have sent my purple fella yesterday afternoon and supposed to pick up later this afternoon. Let's hope everything is gonna be alright. So many negative feedback has been received after fellow bikers has send their bikes for this check up. Poor workmanship by Kawasaki was very eminent by the amount of faulty and sloppy assemble back of the check items. Some complains of leaking of oil on coolant after the bikes were picked up. I just think is just doing a job for the sake of doing it.

2013: The year in review..

Sorry for not posting any updates for this blog. I blame it on twitter, Instagram and also Facebook.

2013 has been kinda a hit and miss year for me and the Purple (used to be yellow) fella. First of all..the bike has been sprayed to a different color. Its Purple now. I was bored of going everywhere and meeting other bikers with the same bike, same color. The kawasaki ER6N Yellow was one of the most sellable bike at that time. Hence everywhere you go..You spot a yellow bike almost every bike gathering place. So i decided to paint my bike Purple. The task was kinda simple. The bike has 12 parts to dismantle and once thats all done i just sent the parts to a local spray painter to do the job. Hardest Part of the dismantle was taking out the tank.

Nice.

After all assembled, time for a buff. Was very happy with the turnout of the color.

So after this there was a few rides here and there. Mostly local riding spots. Made new friends. New bikers along the way..Started my own online parts business. Was made a dealer for an American exhaust brand..Taylormade Exhaust.

Be SEEN ON THE ROAD!!!

I've been riding a bike for a long time now and there a still idiots on the road who always think that the road only belongs to 4 wheels vehicles.  I have been squeeze by cars bus trucks countless of times. These drivers are blind...so my advice to my other fellow bikers is make yourself seen when u ride..extra riding light or daylight works..Hi vis helmets jackets also help...I'm starting by making my head as visible as it can be...Hi Vis helmets...it does help..I've notice the alertness of other road users..try it..it may safe your life...
